    Infinity Trust Mortgage Bank appoints Luqman Bakare substantive MD, CEO

    Infinity Trust Mortgage Bank Plc has announced the appointment of Mr. Luqman Bakare as its substantive Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective June 8, 2026, subject to the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
    The appointment was disclosed in a notice to shareholders and members of the public by the bank, which stated that Bakare succeeds Mrs. Ngozi Chukwu, who had been serving as Acting Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
    According to the bank, Bakare brings more than 35 years of professional experience across the banking, manufacturing, and oil and gas sectors in Nigeria.
    Prior to his appointment, he served as General Manager and Regional Executive (Lagos) at First Trust Mortgage Bank Plc, where he played key roles in business development and strategic growth initiatives.
    A distinguished economist, Bakare is an alumnus of the University of Ibadan, where he obtained both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Economics, specializing in Monetary, Energy, and Petroleum Studies.
    The bank noted that he has attended several professional and executive training programmes within Nigeria and internationally, further enhancing his expertise in financial services and corporate leadership.
    Bakare is an Honorary Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration (ICA).
    Infinity Trust Mortgage Bank expressed confidence that his extensive industry experience and leadership capabilities would contribute significantly to the bank’s growth, operational efficiency, and strategic objectives in the years ahead.
