The PDP Jigawa State standard bearer Mustapha Sule Lamido has sent his message of felicitations to all girls in Jigawa State in particular and Nigeria in general at the International Girl child day celebration.
He indicated that he had earlier stated in his Vision for the State that if elected, he will provide free Education for the girl child up to secondary school level.
“Girls that are orphans will have their sponsorship extended up to Tertiary education. In addition scholarship will be paid for students of special and professional programmes in the field of Medicine, Engineering, Law and other key programmes.”
Explaining further he indicated that those who are exceptional with First class will be considered for automatic employment.
“In my Vision statement as regards the health sector, we will sponsor the training of the girl child to address the shortage of female medical personnel.
In a statement signed by Deputy director publicity PDP campaign directorate Malam Umar Kyari Jitau he said the safety and development of the girl child is their collective responsibility towards human kind for a better future.
“We must commit ourselves to the work on the progress of our state by saving the girl child.” According to him, access to education, healthcare delivery services, skill based learning facilities and economic empowerment are keys to the safety of the girl child which will safeguard them against gender based violence.”
