The Minister of State FCT, Dr Ramatu Tijani Aliyu, has charged security agencies to thoroughly investigate the Kogi State Assembly fire incident to unravel the remote and immediate cause.

Aliyu who expressed shock at the level of destruction caused by the fire, urged citizens of the state to remain calm and allow government through its relevant agencies, determine the cause and necessary actions going forward.
“This fire outbreak is simply unfortunate coming at a time the state government is already grappling with the effects of flooding that has engulfed parts of the state.
“I urge relevant agencies to join the state government in unraveling the remote and immediate cause of this inferno so that this avoidable incidence does not reoccur in the foreseeable future.

“I also plead with citizens not to take laws into their hands as the state government through the relevant agencies are already investigating the cause and appropriate actions will be taken by the state government,” the statement said.
