The Yoruba Council Worldwide, the apex body for Yoruba people globally, has applauded the election of Nze Fidelis Oziochukwu Chukwu as the new President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, describing his emergence as a beacon of hope for unity and progress in Nigeria.

In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Bashorun Isaac Aderemi Ajibola, on behalf of President Aare Oladotun Hassan, the Council expressed confidence in Nze Fidelis’s leadership qualities and his ability to steer Ohanaeze Ndigbo towards greater accomplishments.

“His election is a testament to his exceptional track record, leadership acumen, and positive contributions to the Southeast region and Nigeria as a whole,” the statement said. “We are confident that his wealth of experience will be instrumental in uniting the Ndigbo people and fostering development across the country.”

The Yoruba Council urged Nze Fidelis and his team to prioritize reconciliation and collaboration among stakeholders in the Southeast region. This, they noted, is essential for building a solid foundation for socio-economic growth and stability.

“The Yoruba Council Worldwide is committed to offering unwavering support to Nze Fidelis Chukwu in his new role,” the statement added. “His emergence reflects the foresight of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership in selecting a personality of impeccable integrity and visionary leadership.”

The Council also emphasized the importance of fostering interethnic unity, noting that Nze Fidelis’s election presents a unique opportunity to build bridges of progress and harmony among Nigeria’s diverse ethnic groups.

“As he embarks on this noble journey, we extend our best wishes for success and look forward to collaborating with him to achieve shared goals of national unity and prosperity,” the statement concluded.

This development has been widely celebrated as a step towards strengthening interethnic relations and championing the collective aspirations of Nigerians.
