The Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission(NASIEC) has commenced the process for the conduct of the 2024 local council elections.
The chairman of the commission, Barrister Ayuba Wandai Usman made the declaration in Lafia on Thursday.
Barrister Wandai said as law abiding institution, the NASIEC has rolled out the time table, rules and regulations in the conduct of the 2024 local government council elections in th state.
Wandai declared that the chairmanship and councillorship elections would hold on Saturday 31st August, 2024 respectively.
The state election umpire urged all prospective state holders to keep to the rules and regulations in th conduct of the 2024 council elections.
The last council election was conducted on 6th October 2021. The tenure of the current council chairmen and councillors will end 7th October, 2024.
