The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Jigawa State for the 2027 election, Mustapha Sule Lamido, has congratulated the people of the state on its 35th anniversary, calling for greater unity and collective efforts to drive development.
Lamido, who is the Santurakin Dutse, in a goodwill message marking the anniversary, thanked Allah for giving millions of Jigawa citizens the opportunity to witness the milestone in good health.

He said Jigawa State had made significant progress since its creation 35 years ago and had achievements worthy of celebration.
However, he noted that the state still had important development gaps to close and challenges to overcome in its quest to achieve its full potential.

“Without doubt, we have come a long way over the years and Jigawa has a lot of achievements to be proud of. But we still have more gaps to bridge and hurdles to cross in terms of where we aspire to be,” he said.
Lamido added that, compared with some other states, including those created around the same period, Jigawa still had a huge task ahead.
He called for unity, commitment and dedication among the people, stressing the need for collective action to build a more prosperous state.
The PDP candidate prayed that Allah would grant the people of Jigawa the unity and determination needed to make the state a shining example in Nigeria and beyond.
