Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, will on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, be honoured with the “Best Governor in Human Capital Development” award by Blueprint Newspapers.

The award, part of the publication’s annual Impact Series Awards, recognises visionary public officials whose policies have led to tangible socio-economic progress.

In a letter signed by its Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Salisu Umar, Blueprint Newspapers commended Governor Ododo for his strategic investments in education, youth empowerment, and access to healthcare.
The newspaper highlighted his administration’s people-focused governance and measurable outcomes in key sectors.
The organisers said the selection process was rigorous, involving a nationwide review of governors’ performances across education, healthcare, and other economic indicators.
Ododo’s achievements, particularly in health and education, distinguished him among his peers.
Tuesday’s award ceremony in Abuja will draw dignitaries from across the country, including top government officials, business leaders, civil society advocates, and the media.
Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Ismaila Isah in a statement indicated that since assuming office in January 2024, Ododo has received several honours for his leadership and commitment to inclusive growth. This latest recognition further cements his national profile as a reform-driven governor focused on sustainable development.

The Blueprint Impact Series Awards is an annual event designed to promote excellence, accountability, and service in Nigeria’s public and private sectors.
