Hon. Godfrey Adekoye, Senior Special Assistant on Youth Empowerment to Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo, has said to have narrowly survived an alleged assassination attempt in Lokoja.

The attack occurred at Lounge 1, a popular venue in the city, where Adekoye was targeted by assailants who later followed him to his home. He was fortunate to have been absent at the time of the confrontation.

Adekoye accused the Kogi State APC Youth Leader, Hon. Mohammed U. Mohammed, and a man named Abubakar Nasara Ola of orchestrating the attack.
He claimed that during the assault, Abubakar threatened his life, pointed a gun at him, and only the intervention of bystanders prevented a deadly outcome.
In addition to the threats, the attackers damaged Adekoye’s vehicle, smashing its windscreen. The vehicle is now under the protection of the Quick Response Squad.
Adekoye has reported the attack to the police, voicing concerns for his safety.
In swift response, Hon. Mohammed U. Mohammed has denied any involvement in the assault claiming that the allegation is unfounded
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Williams Ayah, confirmed that an investigation is underway.
