The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Kogi State Police Command have warned politicians against thuggery, political violence and destruction of campaign materials ahead of the 2027 general elections, vowing to hold perpetrators of recent attacks accountable.
The warning came on Monday at a stakeholders’ meeting in Lokoja, where the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr Shehu Wahab, and the Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, urged political parties, candidates and their supporters to maintain peace throughout the electioneering period.
