Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi has, commended the State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) for the peaceful conduct of elections into the 21 Local Government Councils in the state describing the exercise as a job well done.
The Governor gave the commendation after casting his vote at polling unit 01, Upogoro/Odenku Ward in Okene Local Government of the state on Saturday.
The Governor commended the people of the state for conducting themselves peacefully during the polls across the state irrespective of political affiliations and differences.
He noted that his administration had created the enabling environment for members and supporters of different political parties to vote candidates of their choice without molestation or any form of intimidation.
Ododo commended the management of the state Election Commission body, KOSIEC, for conducting a peaceful, credible, transparent, and acceptable election.
The Governor implored the people of the state to continue to support his administration, saying that everything would be done to assuage the current hardship in the country.
He assured the people that the policies of the administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu were tailored towards guaranteeing good life for the people on the long run adding that they would continue to yield positive results.
Meanwhile, Chairman of KOSIEC, Mamman Nda Eri has described the exercise across the 21 Local Government Areas in the state as “very peaceful.”
He said that the successful outcome of the exercise culminated from the full commitment and determination of the Commission to ensure a smooth, credible and acceptable election adding that the collation of was on-going across the Council Areas. (Ends)
