The Senate of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, Kogi State, has approved the withdrawal of 56 students and the expulsion of another for academic deficiencies and examination malpractice.
The decision was taken at the university’s 168th Regular Senate Meeting on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
The Senate also approved 44 First-Class graduates for the 2025/2026 academic session.

A statement by the Director of Public Affairs, Uredo Omale, said the decisions followed the consideration of second-semester examination results.
The results were reviewed alongside reports from the Results Verification Committee and Examination Misconduct Committee.
Eleven students were withdrawn for poor academic performance, while 38 were sanctioned for failing to register for two consecutive semesters.
Seven students from the Department of Medical Laboratory Science were also withdrawn over failed modules and course deficiencies.
The Senate expelled Jude Ojoajogwu Itodo of the Department of Plant Sciences and Biotechnology for gross examination malpractice.
Meanwhile, 44 students earned First-Class Honours across various disciplines.
Forestry produced seven First-Class graduates, while Physiology had six and Economics five.
Biochemistry and Accounting produced three each, while other First-Class graduates came from Computer Science, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Anatomy, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Public Administration and Arabic and Islamic Studies.
The Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of Senate, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman, congratulated the First-Class graduates.
He also commended the Results Verification Committee and Examination Misconduct Committee for upholding the university’s academic standards.
Usman urged the graduates to remain good ambassadors of the institution.
He stressed that students must also comply with the university’s academic regulations.
The university directed the withdrawn and expelled students to surrender their identification cards and other university property to the Security Unit before leaving the campus.
