The Presidential Candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the 2027 election, Prince Adewole Adebayo, has mourned the death of former Peoples Democratic Party National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, describing him as a statesman whose influence extended beyond partisan politics.

Adebayo said Tukur’s contributions to Nigeria’s public administration, business sector and African development left an enduring mark on the country.

In a condolence message, Adebayo recalled his personal interactions with the late elder statesman, particularly through investments in Adamawa State, efforts to promote indigenous shipping and the implementation of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development mandate under Tukur’s leadership.

He described the late Tukur as a “true and illustrious Nigerian personage” who devoted significant years to public service and the advancement of Nigeria and Africa.

Adebayo said Tukur’s death was a loss not only to his family and Adamawa State but also to the wider Nigerian community that benefited from his experience in administration, business and politics.

He extended his condolences to Tukur’s family, friends, associates, the government and people of Adamawa State, and all Nigerians mourning the former public servant.

According to him, Tukur’s life offers an example of how experience in public administration, business and politics can be deployed in the service of national development.

Adebayo prayed that God would give the deceased’s family the strength to cope with the loss and grant Tukur eternal rest.
