Nasarawa SDP Senatorial Aspirant Duba Ishaya Dodo Dumps Party

***Set to Unveil New Platform

Duba Ishaya Dodo, a senatorial aspirant of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Nasarawa State, has formally resigned from the party, citing deepening concerns over its internal direction and operational framework.
Dodo, a native of Gudi Ward in Akwanga Local Government Area, conveyed his decision in a letter dated April 21, 2026, addressed to the Ward Chairman. He said the move followed extensive reflection, consultations, and a critical assessment of recent developments within the party.
According to him, while he remained committed and contributed to the party’s growth at different levels, the current structure and approach of the SDP no longer align with his political vision and aspirations.
He subsequently requested the immediate removal of his name from the party’s membership register and all related records.
Despite his exit, Dodo expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve within the party and wished it success in its future engagements.
Emerging as a rising political figure in Nasarawa State, Dodo—an architect and philanthropist—has also declared his intention to contest the Nasarawa North Senatorial seat in 2027, signaling a bold step in his political trajectory.
In a move that underscores shifting alliances ahead of the next general elections, he further revealed plans to unveil a new political platform in the coming days, a development analysts say could reshape grassroots political dynamics in parts of the state.
His resignation reflects a broader trend of political realignments at the grassroots level, as aspirants and stakeholders reposition ahead of the 2027 electoral
