The Northern Nigeria Women Support for Continuity Tinubu/Kashim 2027 (NNWSCT), led by Barrister Aisha Kaita, has commended the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, describing him as a driving force for political unity and development in Northern Nigeria.

In a statement signed by the group’s media coordinator, Comrade Ahmed Illah, and made available to National Update in Dutse, the group praised Senator Barau’s active participation in Governor Umar Namadi’s Citizens’ Engagement Programme, known as “Gwamnati da Jama’a,” held in Sule Tankarkar Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

According to the statement, Barau’s attendance “demonstrates his commitment to inclusive governance, grassroots participation, and the democratic principle that government should act not only for the people but also with the people.”

Comrade Illah noted that the Deputy Senate President expressed admiration for Governor Namadi’s leadership, particularly his transparent presentation of government activities and expenditures.

Quoting Barau, the statement read: “I was deeply impressed by Governor Namadi’s openness in providing detailed records of government activities. This level of transparency is commendable and reflects responsible governance.”

Barau, an accountant by training, emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability, saying he takes pride in the example Jigawa’s leadership is setting for others across the country.

The NNWSCT lauded both Governor Namadi and Senator Barau for their “commitment to strengthening democratic engagement and promoting unity across the North,” describing the initiative as a model for deepening public trust and effective governance.
