Ogun APC Rallies Behind Adeola for 2027 Governorship Race

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has endorsed Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as its consensus governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections, following a high-level strategic meeting in Abeokuta.
The meeting brought together key party figures, including former governors Olusegun Osoba, Gbenga Daniel, and Ibikunle Amosun, signaling rare elite alignment within the state chapter.
Governor Dapo Abiodun backed the consensus arrangement, describing it as a step toward correcting the long-standing political exclusion of Ogun West, which has never produced a governor since the state’s creation in 1979. He, however, cautioned that endorsement is only the beginning, not a guarantee of victory.
Abiodun urged party leaders to strengthen unity and grassroots mobilisation, warning against complacency and internal divisions ahead of the polls.
In his response, Adeola thanked the party leadership for their trust and called for collective effort, pledging to work inclusively with stakeholders to secure victory for the APC and deliver effective governance if elected.
The endorsement marks an early consolidation move by the APC in Ogun as it positions itself for a tightly contested 2027 election.
