The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State has extended an open invitation to former governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, to return to the party.

The call was made during an enlarged meeting of the State Executive Committee (SEC) in Awka on Thursday, where leaders reviewed the party’s standing and outlined strategies for the future.

In a communiqué signed by State Chairman, Mr. Chidi Chidebe, the party said:

“We urge all aggrieved and former members, especially our revered former governor, Mr. Peter Obi, to return home and join the rejuvenated PDP in our collective mission for a better Nigeria.”

The party warned that alliances based on incompatible ideologies may not bring sustainable results and reaffirmed its readiness to welcome returning members.

PDP also rallied support for its governorship candidate, Mr. Jude Ezenwafor, and running mate, Mr. Francis Okeke, ahead of the next election, calling on INEC to ensure a fair and credible process.

Additionally, the SEC nominated Chief Clems Ezike as Anambra’s new National Ex-Officio and urged the Southeast zonal leadership under Chief Ali Odefa to forward the nomination to the national secretariat.

The committee hailed the success of the May 27 National Executive Committee meeting and expressed confidence in ongoing efforts to resolve internal party disputes.
