    Musawa Applauds Nigerian Women on International Women’s Day

    The Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, has joined the global community in celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, saluting Nigerian women for their resilience, creativity, and impact on society.
    In a statement issued on Friday, March 7, the Minister extended warm greetings to all Nigerian women, acknowledging their vital contributions across various sectors.
    “As we commemorate International Women’s Day, the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy recognizes the strength and achievements of Nigerian women. Their unwavering dedication continues to shape our nation and the world at large.”
    The 2025 International Women’s Day theme, “Invest in Women. Accelerate Action,” underscores the urgent need to support women’s empowerment and eliminate barriers to gender equality.
    Barrister Musawa also congratulated Nigerian women who were honoured at the 2025 Forbes Women Africa Awards in South Africa on Wednesday. Among them were Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), who received the Lifetime Achievement Award, Tiwa Savage, global music icon, who won the Media Icon Award, Arunma Oteh, OON, Nigerian economist and Chairperson of the Royal African Society, who was named Forbes Woman Africa Changemaker of the Decade
    “These outstanding Nigerian women have made us proud. Their dedication, talent, and leadership continue to inspire generations,” Musawa said.
    She further celebrated other young Nigerian achievers recognized at the event to, Nissi Ogulu – Youth Icon Award, Hephzibah Akinwale – Next Generation Award, Eniola Shokunbi – Young Achiever Award
    Musawa reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering women in the arts, culture, and creative industries, ensuring they have the resources to excel.
    “We celebrate every Nigerian woman breaking barriers and pushing boundaries across Africa. Your success is a testament to the excellence and strength of African women,” she added.
