***Demands Respect for Wife Amidst Akpabio Dispute
In a dramatic turn of events, High Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, the Alema of Warri Kingdom, has publicly defended his wife, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, amid her ongoing dispute with Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Breaking his initial silence, Chief Uduaghan condemned the distractions surrounding the issue, emphasizing that the real concerns at stake should not be overlooked. He described his wife as a woman of integrity, a committed public servant, and a victim of undue harassment.
“Natasha was elected because of the overwhelming trust and respect of her people. She remains steadfast in her dedication to them and the nation,” he stated.
Revealing that he had personally intervened by meeting with Akpabio to resolve the matter amicably, Uduaghan expressed disappointment that despite this, his wife continued to face intimidation.
“As a traditional leader, I believe in peace and dialogue. However, it is disheartening that despite our understanding, the harassment persists,” he lamented.
Chief Uduaghan also reaffirmed his unwavering support for his wife, rejecting any attempts to undermine their marriage or tarnish her reputation.
“My wife is my greatest joy. Our bond is strong, built on love, trust, and respect. I will never allow anyone to dishonor or diminish her,” he declared.
Calling on the Nigerian Senate and its leadership to uphold dignity, Uduaghan urged lawmakers to ensure that his wife receives the respect she deserves while due process takes its course.
His statement has further intensified public scrutiny over the dispute, raising fresh concerns about power dynamics within the country’s political landscape and the treatment of women in leadership.
