Open Letter to Governor Dapo Abiodun: Empowering Egba Land’s Infrastructural Revolution

Subject: Leasing Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI) to Ogun Central for Infrastructural Development

    Your Excellency Sir

We hope this letter finds you in a good spirit. Let’s start the letter with a popular Yoruba maxim, “A kì í bínú orí ká fi fìlà dé ìbàdí.”

Meaning: The disdain we have for the human head does not justify placing a cap meant for it on the wrong place.

Let us also remind your excellency that democracy is defined as “government of the people, by the people, and for the people.” Sadly, this seems to be slipping away in Egba Land, particularly within Ogun Central Senatorial District, due to a growing infrastructural deficit which was never your fault .

The state capital and surrounding areas are suffering from poor roads and infrastructure, which are worsening as the rainy season approaches.

William Shakespeare said, “Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.” It’s evident that some are born into power, while others earn it through hard work and dedication.

Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI), a distinguished leader, is a prime example of someone who has earned greatness through his outstanding performance in Ogun West, particularly in infrastructure and economic development.

YAYI has proven his worth as a true patriot of Ogun State.

Senator YAYI’s legacy of economic and infrastructural revolution has been transformational for Ogun West, a region that had never seen such progress in 49 years since the state’s creation. His exemplary leadership has touched all sectors—education, healthcare, roads, and empowerment.

He facilitated the construction of over 400 km of roads and the rehabilitation of 300 km, alongside numerous other projects benefiting countless people. His commitment to transparency, youth development, security, and economic empowerment is undeniable.

In contrast, Ogun Central, particularly Egba Land, faces severe infrastructural challenges. Roads are in deplorable condition, and if not addressed urgently, the economy of the region will come to a standstill, especially with the onset of the rainy season.

A visionary leader with the courage, experience, and commitment to resolving these challenges is urgently needed.

Critical Roads in Need of Immediate Attention

Your Excellency Sir, the following roads in Egba Land the maternal home of Sen Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi are in catastrophic condition, and immediate intervention is necessary to prevent further economic paralysis:

A Call for Leadership and Action

We urgently appeal to Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI) to extend his leadership to Ogun Central on LEASE , where his experience and track record in driving infrastructural change through Federal Government projects facilitation will be crucial.

As Egba Land is his maternal homeland, Senator YAYI’s involvement would be pivotal in securing federal funding for these critical roads and ensuring that the region thrives both economically and politically

The Ogun State Government, under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun CON, has done an excellent job in advancing the state’s development. However, the support of strong leaders like Senator YAYI, who can facilitate federal funding, will be crucial to lifting Egba Land to its rightful status.

We appeal to Governor Dapo Abiodun to approve a partial transfer ON LOAN /LEASE for Senator YAYI to support Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, representing Ogun Central presently.

This request is in the interest of Egba Land and not driven by partisan politics. It is about securing progress for all citizens of Ogun State.

We also urge members of the APC and political detractors who may resist progress to remember that Ogun State belongs to everyone. It’s vital that we all work together to ensure Egba Land receives the attention it deserves.

We are confident that Kabiyesi Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo Okukenu the 1st , Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egba Land, would greatly appreciate the support of Senator YAYI in addressing the infrastructural challenges in Egba Land.

In conclusion, we humbly ask for your leadership, Governor Dapo Abiodun, to allow Senator YAYI to assist in advancing the infrastructural revolution across Ogun Central.

Together, we can build a prosperous Egba Land.

    THE TIME IS NOW
