In a significant move to support his constituents ahead of Ramadan, Senator Babangida Hussaini, representing Jigawa Northwest Senatorial District, has empowered 400 women and disbursed food items worth over N300 million across the district.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Senator Hussaini emphasized his commitment to improving the lives of his people, stating that the initiative is part of his ongoing economic support and Ramadan welfare program for the needy in the 12 local government areas of the district.

“To ensure families have the necessary support during this sacred period, I am pleased to distribute three trailers of rice and three trailers of millet—allocating 150 bags of each to every local government area in the three emirates within Jigawa Northwest,” he announced.

Beyond food distribution, the senator provided financial empowerment to 400 women, each receiving N25,000 to enhance their small businesses. He highlighted the critical role of women in community development, stressing that economic empowerment leads to self-reliance and sustainable growth.

“Women are the backbone of our society. Supporting them is not just about financial assistance but fostering long-term economic independence,” he added.

Senator Hussaini reaffirmed his commitment to creating more opportunities that transform lives, promising continued initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of his constituents.

His gesture has been widely praised as a demonstration of leadership and compassion, ensuring that vulnerable families receive essential support during the holy month of Ramadan.
