    Kogi CP advices group against planned Oct. 1, protest

    ***Urges them to give government more time to fix economy

    Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Bethrand Onuoha, has advised Executive members of “Take It Back Movement” Kogi State Chapter, to reconsider their planned protest and give Government more time to fix the Nation’s economy.

    Onuoha who gave the advice while receiving Executive Council members of body in response to their letter notifying the commend of the planned protest.

    The Police boss said he called for the engagement meeting in response to their Letter received on Friday 27th on the planned protest, to urged them to put on hold, the October 1st planned Nationwide Protest.

    He saw acceded to the fact that the Group had right to peaceful protest in accordance with extant Laws, but added that his advice was to avoid playing into the hands of disgruntled elements and or hoodlums.

    He said that the caution was to avoid or prevent them from highjacking the process and unleashing mayhem on innocent citizens and avoid destruction of properties and damage of critical infrastructure which would inturn, have serious adverse impact on the Nation’s economy.

    Coordinator of the group, Moses Opeyemi, assured the CP that as enlightened and law-abiding Youths in Kogi State, they accepted his advise as a father and promised to remain committed to the peace, progress and development of the State.

    He further stated that the Executive Council and all members of the Group would meet to deliberate on all the issues raised by the CP and come up with a reasonable resolution regarding their participation in the protest.

    Opeyemi, on behalf of the Group commended the CP for the constructive engagement which has gone along way to enlighten them on their responsibilities as Youths who are Leaders of tomorrow and vanguard for development. (Ends)
