Materials used for the November 11 governorship election in Kogi state have been relocated to Abuja by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lokoja

INEC’s chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, reportedly ordered the relocation of the election materials.
Recent events leading to attack on INEC officials, offices, and tribunal members by some political thugs informed the decision to move the materials that are no longer safe to the Federal Capital Territary.
The Kogi State Election Tribunal Petition had earlier moved its sitting from Lokoja to the National Judicial Council complex in Jabi, Abuja for same reasons
The commission ordered the removal of the materials to a safe place
The materials, including election results, Biometric Voter Authentication System (BVAS), and other sensitive documents, were loaded onto trucks on Friday afternoon, under heavy security to the Federal Capital Territory.
