The senator representing Jigawa North East Senatorial District, Ahmad Abdulhamid Malam Madori, has secured the ticket of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 senatorial election after emerging unopposed at the party’s primary held in Hadejia.
Malam Madori was affirmed as the APC consensus candidate following the withdrawal of his major challengers, including former Comptroller-General of Immigration, Muhammad Babandede, Sani Garin Gabas and Ubali Hashim.
The affirmation exercise was conducted by the APC Primary Election Committee chairman from Sokoto State and witnessed by party leaders, stakeholders and supporters from across the senatorial district.
Among top party officials present at the exercise were the APC Zonal Vice Chairman in Jigawa State, Muhammad Umar Dikkuma, and the party’s State Vice Chairman, Nasiru Jahun.
If re-elected in the 2027 general election, Malam Madori, who currently chairs the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, will return to the National Assembly for a second term.
Speaking shortly after his affirmation, the senator expressed appreciation to party stakeholders, executives and supporters across the district for the confidence reposed in him.
“I want to thank our party elders and executives in Jigawa North East Senatorial District for their unwavering support. I will continue to promote their interests at all times,” he said.
He also commended Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, for what he described as his leadership, encouragement and political guidance, which he said contributed to the successful consensus arrangement.
Malam Madori urged APC members and supporters to remain united ahead of the 2027 elections, describing the ruling party as “one political family.”
The senator further appreciated the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, represented at the event by Hon. Achidi, as well as the Jigawa APC Chairman, Ahmad Garba, represented by Nasiru Jahun, for ensuring what he called a transparent and peaceful exercise.
He also praised members of the screening and election committees, party executives, local government chairmen and women leaders for their contributions to the successful conduct of the primary.
The senator pledged to continue working with party leaders and constituents to strengthen unity within the APC while delivering quality representation and good governance for the people of Jigawa State and Nigeria.
