Young Moms Support Initiative, has urged Nigerians to vote leaders with good antecedents during the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

The Founder of the Non-Governmental Organisation Dr Vivian Sonny-Nsirim made the call in a statement in Abuja on Friday.

She said that Nigerians must vote for leaders with good antecedents and not be swayed by emotions and primordial sentiments in order to change the “Nigerian narrative”.

“We must shun sentiments, ethnicity and religion for us to find lasting solutions to the country’s challenges.

“Governance is not about emotions or trial and error. We must look at what we want; we must elect leaders that are credible and with good repute.

“We must agree and be ready to make sacrifices for our children.

“It is not about everybody thinking they have the solutions to the country’s problems, but Nigerians must unite and make the right choice.”

She, however, called on politicians and their supporters to shun hate and called for issue-based campaigns.

Sonny-Nsirim also urged women to support the women-folk to contribute positively to the growth and development of the country.

“We need to support women that would make informed decisions and take active actions that would turn around the challenges facing women, girls and youths in the country.

“Every woman is a mother and a life giver. Mothers share a core value of caring for others. This is why we need more women on the decision making table of this country to effect the desired change we want,” she said
