The Labour Party has indicated that its Presidential Flagbearer as Pan-Nigerian candidate as against the Opposition Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Atiku Abubakar who they said has no base.
The spokesperson of the Labour Party Campaign Council Dr Tanko Yunusa was responding to the PDP presidential Campaign Council statement that Peter Obi, presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) is a regional candidate.

“Obi is Pan-Nigerian candidate; unlike Atiku who is the proverbial bat without base. Obi is today the darling of Nigerian youths nationwide, has strong supporters in all geopolitical zones – north, west and east.”

    Going further Tanko said,
“The Nigerian patriots I know will surely reward Obi with votes for transforming the imagination of our youths from despair, despondency and hopelessness to a hopeful and prosperous country.”

Recall that the spokesman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Dino Meleya dubbed Obi a regional candidate, saying that there is no regional champion that has ever become president in this country.

He thanked Meleya for acknowledging Obi’s character, competence and strong health.

Tanko appealed to PDP Campaign Council to leave Obi alone and face APC, their partners in foul language campaign.

    He said,
“ Obi has sworn not to use foul and intemperate language on any presidential candidate not matter the provocation; instead his focus is on how best to transform the country from consumption to production.”
