In a birthday message to mark the former military president’s 81st birthday celebration which he made available to the Press, Chief Peter Ameh said IBB defined what leadership is all about through the development he brought to bare in Nigeria while in office as president.

Ameh described Babangida as a courageous leader, passionate personality, disciplined military and principled officer whose knowledge, elderly counsel, mentorship has helped in reshaping many Nigerian leaders and saved the country from several forms of calamities.

He described him as a statesman and nationalist, who remained exceptionally loyal and committed to national unity, stability and economic development of Nigeria, making him the most visited former Nigerian leader who has practically become an institution.

Ameh further said, “Of all Nigeria’s military leaders who ruled before the return to democracy in 1999, Ibrhaim Babangida remained a quintessence of development, whose government laid solid foundation for infrastructural and policy development in key sectors of our Nigeria that has remained unmatched”.

The House of Representatives candidate hinted in the message that for him, “IBB remains a Pan-Nigerian leader deeply appreciated by those who know the foundation he laid in the country”
