Qatar Expels Iranian Military, Security Officials Over ‘Hostile Actions’

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared Iranian military and security attachés in Qatar persona non grata, ordering their exit within 24 hours amid escalating diplomatic tensions.
In an official note delivered to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Qatari authorities also directed all staff linked to the attaché offices to leave the country within the same timeframe.
The decision was conveyed during a meeting between the Director of Protocol at the ministry, Ibrahim Yousif Fakhro, and Iran’s ambassador to Qatar, Ali Salehabadi, in Doha.
According to the ministry, the move follows what it described as “repeated targeting” and “blatant aggression” by Iran, actions it said violated Qatar’s sovereignty and security.
The statement further accused Iran of breaching international law, including provisions tied to United Nations Security Council resolutions, as well as undermining principles of good neighborliness.
Qatar warned that continued hostile conduct could trigger further diplomatic and security measures, stressing its commitment to safeguarding national interests.
Authorities reiterated that the country reserves the right to take all necessary steps—within the framework of international law—to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
