Imasuen Rejects Poster Linking Him to Edo South 2027 Race

    Threatens Legal Action

Senator Neda Imasuen has disowned a campaign poster linking him to the 2027 Edo South Senatorial District election, describing the publication as misleading and unauthorised.
Imasuen, in a disclaimer issued over the poster, said his photograph and name were used without his consent and that he was not the candidate of the Labour Party or any other political party for the 2027 election.
The senator said the poster, which featured him alongside other persons presented as contenders for the Edo South seat, could mislead the public about his political position and future plans.
He stressed that he had earlier accepted the outcome of the relevant political process and had not authorised anyone to use his image in materials suggesting that he was still contesting the seat.
Imasuen therefore warned Prince Omokhodion Okojie and others behind the publication to stop using his name, photograph and identity for political activities without his approval.
He said any further unauthorised use of his identity would be taken seriously and could lead to legal action.
The senator urged members of the public to disregard political materials that portray him as a candidate without his consent and to rely only on his official statements regarding his political status.
The controversy followed the circulation of a poster ahead of the 2027 Edo South senatorial election, in which Imasuen was listed among individuals described as major contenders for the seat.
