**As House wades into his face off with Gov Wike

Detained Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship aspirant in Rivers State, Honourable Farah Dagogo, has been rushed to the police hospital in Port Harcourt, the state capital, over an emergency related to some health complications

His special adviser on media and Publicity Ibrahim Lawal has made the disclosure.

Mr. Lawal, confirmed the development on Wednesday, saying Dagogo suffered stomach and chest complications.

Lawal said, the critical nature of his health prompted the police hospital to refer the federal lawmaker to an undisclosed hospital within the metropolis.

Dagogo, who represents Degema/ Bonny Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives was arrested by the Rivers State Government by the police when he appeared at the zonal secretariat of the PDP in Port Harcourt for screening.

He was arraigned at a Magistrate Court the following day and remanded in police custody afterwards.

According to Lawal,  “Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo has been taken to the hospital by the Police. He complained of stomach and chest complications. He is receiving treatment now.”

Lawal, in a statement, further alleged that there was a plot by some agents of the state to ‘manufacture’ sundry charges of murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, illegal bunkering and attacks on security agencies, among others, against Dagogo.

Lawal insisted that some state actors were plotting to attack the State Criminal Investigation Department where Dagogo was being detained to later accuse the lawmaker of being behind the attack.

meanwhile the House representatives in a special session on Wednesday was obviously divided along party lines on Wednesday as APC lawmakers condemned the arrest and detention of Farah Dagogo of the PDP

This was sequel to a motion of urgent national importance sponsored by Chisom Dike (APC, Rivers) on the arrest and detention of their colleague Farah Dagogo from Rivers State.

While presenting the motion, he urged the House of Representatives to direct the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice to use his powers under the constitution to withdraw and take over the matter from the magistrate court.

Dike also prayed that the House prevail on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to release Dagogo from detention where he is held at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Rivers State.

He also asked that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) should ensure the screening of Farah Dagogo for the governorship position.

Speaking earlier, the Deputy Speaker Idris Ahmed Wase expressed concern over the incident in Rivers State and asked the Rivers Caucus to brief the House on actions taken so far.

Wase said, “This matter affects one of us. It is not about party, it could be anybody”.

Contributing to the motion, the Minority Leader Ndudi Elumelu, urged the APC to wash off its hands from the issue as Farah Dagogo is a member of their party, (PDP).

“I am aware that Chisom is a member of your party (APC, referring to the presiding officer, Femi Gbajabiamila) but that is not where I am going to. Chinda has already said we should toe the line of reconciliation in this matter”.

Speaking further, Elumelu insisted that the prayers in the motion were contrary to the call for reconciliation.as he Demanded deletion of the prayers.

In his remarks, the Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila urged the members not to take sides. Adding that “Wike is a good man.

“As leaders we have to approach this matter objectively, we need to be seen to assist Dagogo. It is obvious we are speaking with sentiments and it should not be so. Let us approach this matter cautiously”, Gbajabiamila adminished.

However, Kingsley Chinda (PDP, Rivers) in his submission urged that the matter be discussed at the leadership level and not the way it’s currently being handled.

“I would have suggested that this matter should not even be discussed here. It is very sensitive.

“Who knows who would not have survived that day. There’s another point to this story”

Meanwhile passing the motion, the House resolved that its leadership step into the matter.
