In the wake of recent unrest that left parts of Rano town shaken, a powerful call for healing and unity has emerged.
The Chairman of Rano Local Government Area, Malam Naziru Yau, is urging residents to turn a new page and come together in peace as the Eid al-Kabeer celebration approaches.

Speaking through the Speaker of the Rano Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Abdullahi Jibrin, the Chairman called on citizens to let the spirit of Sallah, sacrifice, compassion, and faith guide their actions during this critical moment.
Zonal Information Officer, Rano, Rabiu Khalil Kura in a statement quoted him to have stated that,

“This is not just a festive season—it is a chance to heal,” Malam Naziru Yau said.
“Let us forgive. Let us reconcile. Let us show the strength of Rano, not in conflict, but in how we rise above it together.”

His message was not just a plea—it was a charge to youths, elders, religious and traditional leaders, and all stakeholders to become custodians of peace and protectors of community harmony.

To ensure the safety of lives and property, the Chairman revealed that comprehensive security measures have been put in place, with local law enforcement fully mobilized for the festive period. He called on residents to cooperate fully and remain vigilant.

In a gesture of gratitude and solidarity, Malam Naziru Yau commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his proactive leadership and unwavering commitment to delivering democratic dividends to the people of Kano State.

He reaffirmed his own administration’s resolve to keep development on course in Rano, despite recent challenges. “Our people deserve peace. They deserve progress. And we will keep working to give them both,” he said.

The Chairman concluded with a call for prayers—not just for Rano, but for Nigeria as a whole.

“May this Eid bring peace to our homes, healing to our land, and unity to our hearts.”
