In the face of yet another brutal assault on innocent Nigerians, President Bola Tinubu has broken his silence with a vow: the gunmen responsible will not escape justice.
Over the weekend, terror returned to Plateau State as gunmen unleashed coordinated attacks on Ruwi, Hurti, Tadai, Manguna, and Dafo—communities in Bokkos Local Government Area—leaving trails of blood, charred homes, and grieving families.
In a statement issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu condemned the killings in strong terms, calling them “unacceptable” and a direct affront to the government’s ongoing efforts to restore peace and order across Nigeria.
“The latest attacks on defenceless citizens are unacceptable,” the President declared. “These intermittent attacks have no place in our country. We are working tirelessly to restore peace, and this tragedy only strengthens our resolve.”
He directed security agencies to track down the attackers without delay, assuring the public that they would face severe punishment.
He ordered the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to immediately partner with Plateau State authorities to deliver relief and medical support to survivors and displaced residents. He also reaffirmed his full backing for Governor Caleb Mutfwang, promising the federal government’s support in restoring calm to the battered region.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and all those affected by this senseless violence,” Tinubu said. “No community should ever endure such horror. We must all unite—beyond tribe, religion, or politics—to reject retaliation and embrace peace.”
The President urged residents to cooperate with security agencies and share vital information that could lead to the arrest of the attackers, stressing that lasting peace must be a joint mission between government and the people.
As Plateau mourns again, Tinubu’s message rings clear: this fight isn’t over—and the killers will be held accountable.
