Former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has claimed that the ongoing political battle between suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is rooted in disputes over money sharing.

Amaechi made the revelation during an interview with DW on Saturday, criticizing both politicians for failing to address the real concerns of Rivers people.

“The fight between the current governor of Rivers State and the FCT minister is about sharing money. If not, what is the quarrel?” Amaechi asked. “Nigerians don’t seem to care about corruption anymore. No one is even asking questions on the streets. Can both of them come out and tell the public what the real issue is?”

Amaechi also took a swipe at President Bola Tinubu’s emergency rule in Rivers State, calling it unconstitutional.

The feud between Fubara and Wike has escalated in recent months, leading to political instability in the oil-rich state. While Wike, Fubara’s predecessor, played a key role in his emergence as governor, their relationship has since deteriorated, sparking a major power struggle.
