The Akwa Ibom State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police CP Baba Mohammed Azare, has reiterated its commitment to community collaboration in ensuring peace and security across the state.
This reaffirmation came during a courtesy visit by the Core Community Elders Forum, led by Chairman Akpanubong Jehovah Isaac Akpan, to the Command Headquarters in Uyo.

Akwa Ibom State Police Command, DSP Timfon John, in a statement explained that the delegation, comprising elders from Eket, Onna, Esit Eket, Ibeno, Ikot Abasi, Mkpat Enin, Eastern Obolo, and Mbo Local Government Areas, sought to formally introduce their organization and establish a cooperative relationship with the police for enhanced security and community development.
Vice Chairman of the Forum, Chief Engr. Christopher Tom, emphasized the group’s dedication to fostering peace, unity, and cooperation among their communities. He reassured the Commissioner of the elders’ willingness to work alongside security agencies to uphold law and order while promoting socio-economic development.
In response, CP Baba Azare commended the initiative and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to strengthening community policing strategies. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and local stakeholders in addressing security challenges.
The Commissioner urged the elders to continue encouraging law-abiding behavior within their communities and assured them of the Command’s continuous support in maintaining peace and security across the state.
