Dr. Ibrahim Sani Kaita has lauded Governor Umar Dikko Radda’s proactive approach to social welfare, describing his Ramadan feeding programme as a lifeline for the elderly, vulnerable, and less privileged in Katsina State.
Speaking during a media engagement, Dr. Kaita noted that the initiative is not just an act of generosity but a strategic response to the rising cost of living, ensuring that families can observe Ramadan without the burden of food insecurity.
The Katsina State Government’s N2.3 billion food distribution plan includes the provision of free essential food items to thousands of residents, with additional supplies available at subsidized rates to help stabilize market prices.
This initiative, according to Dr. Kaita, underscored Governor Radda’s commitment to social justice and inclusive governance.
Beyond Ramadan, Dr. Kaita also commended the government’s fertilizer subsidy programme, emphasizing that affordable agricultural inputs will strengthen food security and support farmers across the state.
He urged citizens to embrace the spirit of unity and prayer during Ramadan, calling for daily Quranic recitations and special supplications for lasting peace and progress in Katsina and Nigeria at large.
Governor Radda’s intervention, Dr. Kaita concluded, is a model of leadership that prioritizes the welfare of the people, proving that governance can be both compassionate and impactful in times of need.
