Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on Muslims to embrace patience, sacrifice, and compassion for the less privileged as they observe this year’s Ramadan fasting.

In his Ramadan message, Governor Ododo described the holy month as a sacred period for deep reflection, devotion to worship, and self-discipline.
Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Ismaila Isah in a statement quoted him to have emphasized the importance of fostering generosity and unity, urging citizens to support one another regardless of religious differences.

“Ramadan is a sacred time of reflection, devotion, and self-discipline. It reminds us of the virtues of patience, sacrifice, and generosity—values that strengthen our faith and inspire compassion for those in need,” he stated.

The governor encouraged Kogi residents to promote peace, mutual respect, and understanding, noting that these virtues are essential for the state’s growth and development.

“During this Holy Month, I encourage all citizens of Kogi State, regardless of faith, to embrace the spirit of love, peace, and mutual respect that Ramadan represents. Let us use this opportunity to strengthen our bonds as a people and work together for the continued progress and unity of our dear state,” he added.

Governor Ododo also urged Muslims to dedicate the period to fervent prayers for peace, security, and progress in Kogi State and Nigeria. He called on communities to show kindness to the less privileged, uphold justice, and promote harmony.
