Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Rt. Hon. Chibudom Nwuche, has mourned the death of former PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Dr. Bamanga Tukur.

Nwuche described Tukur, who died at 90, as a colossus who made significant contributions to Nigeria’s political and public life.

He said the late politician was also a mentor and father figure to many, including himself.

Nwuche recalled working with Tukur when he served as Deputy National Chairman of the PDP between 2012 and 2014.

According to him, Tukur was a disciplined patriot who brought purpose and direction to the party during his tenure.

“He embodied discipline and patriotism,” Nwuche said.

Tukur held several important positions during his career.

He served as General Manager of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Governor of the old Gongola State and Minister of Industries.

Nwuche described him as a visionary who believed in Nigeria’s potential and supported the development of younger leaders.

He condoled with Tukur’s family, the Fombina Emirate, the government and people of Adamawa State and members of the PDP.

Nwuche prayed that Almighty Allah would forgive Tukur’s shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.

“May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal peace. His legacy will forever remain a guiding light for those who follow in his footsteps,” he said.
