EFCC declares Sadiya Farouq wanted over alleged corruption case

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Umar Farouq, wanted over allegations of abuse of office and diversion of public funds.
In a notice published on its official platform, the agency stated that the 52-year-old ex-minister, who served under former President Muhammadu Buhari, has a last known address in Maitama, Abuja, and urged the public to provide information on her whereabouts.
The declaration follows a prior arrest warrant issued by the FCT High Court in April 2026 in connection with alleged financial misconduct. Farouq was appointed minister in 2019 and was the youngest member of the federal cabinet at the time.
