National Chairman of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Cleopas Moses, has issued a stern warning to new entrants, declaring zero tolerance for indiscipline and elite entitlement as the party expands ahead of 2027.
Speaking at a defection ceremony in Abuja, Moses said the NDC would not sacrifice its values to accommodate political heavyweights, stressing that all members must align with the party’s structure and culture.
“Anyone coming into NDC must understand our core values. You don’t come in and assume you are better than those already here,” he said, blaming arrogance and entitlement for instability in other opposition parties.
In a blunt message to defectors, he insisted the party would not bend its rules for anyone. “If you are not coming, this ark will still float. We are not at the begging end,” he added.
Moses urged new members to embrace humility and internal cohesion, noting that while disagreements are inevitable, they must not undermine the party’s unity.
“Be humble enough to learn. Where change is needed, make suggestions—not disruptions. We can disagree, but we must not destroy the system,” he said.
The warning came as the NDC recorded a fresh wave of defections from major parties, signalling growing momentum nationwide.
Among the new entrants were Babatunde Ali, Mohammed Sani Yahaya, and Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayinma.
The event, led by National Leader Seriake Dickson and members of the National Working Committee, featured the formal decoration of defectors with party insignia and membership cards.
Party officials said the influx reflects rising confidence in the NDC as a disciplined alternative, even as Moses set a clear tone: expansion without compromise, and growth without chaos.
