Former Chief of Staff to the Imo State Government and former governorship candidate, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, has reaffirmed his commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after revalidating his membership through the party’s ongoing electronic registration exercise.
Nwosu completed the revalidation at Eziama Obaire Ward in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State, where he addressed party members and community leaders.
He urged residents and supporters to embrace the registration exercise and strengthen the APC at all levels, stressing that active political participation remains key to shaping the future of the state and the country.
Using the occasion to address speculation about his political future, Nwosu dismissed rumours linking him to a possible defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He described the claims as unfounded, insisting that he remains firmly rooted in the APC.
A founding member of the party, Nwosu said he had no intention of leaving a political platform he helped to build, adding that former governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha and members of the Rescue Mission political family also remain committed to the party.
“I remain a committed member of the APC. I will not abandon a house I helped to build,” he said.
The exercise attracted several party stakeholders, including ward executives, community leaders, members of the Ugwumba Movement, and former local government chairmen from Nkwerre, Orsu, and Isu council areas. The Eze-elect of Eziama Obaire was also in attendance.
Observers say the revalidation exercise reflects renewed grassroots mobilisation within the APC in Imo State as the party consolidates its base ahead of future political activities.
