The Obidient Movement has cautioned the African Democratic Congress (ADC) against issuing ultimatums to former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, stressing that the coalition must uphold fairness, justice, and inclusivity ahead of the 2027 elections.
Reacting to a statement released by the ADC, the Movement expressed concern that resolutions earlier agreed upon by the coalition were now being altered midway, despite Obi’s alignment with the platform after the Anambra governorship election.
“Peter Obi, as a leader with a broad constituency, has always consulted widely before making political decisions. He did so before joining the coalition and will do the same before responding to any ultimatum,” the Movement said in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Dr. Yunusa Tanko.

The group further demanded clarity on how the party intends to zone its presidential ticket and principal offices within the coalition, warning that equity must guide the process if victory is to be secured in 2027.
“With the presidency currently in the South, zoning decisions must reflect fairness and inclusivity. Only then can we mobilize effectively across the country,” the statement added.
The Obidient Movement emphasized that Obi is not desperate for power, insisting that his mission remains to build a Nigeria that works by tackling poverty, reviving the economy, improving education, healthcare, and security.
“These values of good governance are what drew him into the coalition in the first place,” Tanko noted.
