    ***Reaffirms Backing for George Moghalu

The Obidient Movement has dismissed as false and misleading reports claiming it has endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second term in office, reaffirming its unwavering support for Mr. George Moghalu ahead of the 2025 Anambra governorship election.
In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the Movement’s National Coordinator, the group described the purported endorsement as “fraudulent, unauthorized, and a calculated attempt to mislead the public.”
“The Obidient Movement has not endorsed, authorized, or supported any candidate other than Mr. George Moghalu, who was earlier endorsed by His Excellency Peter Obi,” Dr. Tanko stated.
“Any claims or publications suggesting otherwise are baseless and should be disregarded by Nigerians.”

The Movement reiterated its independence and non-partisan stance, emphasizing that its guiding principles remain integrity, accountability, and people-centered leadership.

It explained that its support for Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election was based on his leadership ideals and reform-driven record, not on political patronage or party loyalty.

“Anyone claiming to act or speak for the Movement in endorsing another candidate does so entirely in a personal capacity,” Dr. Tanko clarified.

The statement condemned the unauthorized use of the Movement’s name, logo, or platform to promote partisan interests, warning that such acts amount to deliberate misrepresentation.

“The Obidient Movement is not for sale. We do not engage in transactional politics or lend our credibility to partisan manipulation,” the statement read.

Reaffirming its focus on credible and ethical leadership, the Movement said all future political decisions — including those concerning the 2027 presidential election — would be made collectively and communicated only through official channels.

It urged the media, public, and political stakeholders to disregard fabricated reports linking it to Governor Soludo’s alleged endorsement, describing them as the handiwork of mischief-makers.

“We remain committed to building a Nigeria anchored on competence, character, and the common good,” the Movement stated.
“The Obidient Movement cannot and will not be dragged into the politics of deceit or distortion.”
