***Goes spiritual, seeks divine intervention.

Senator, Representing Kogi West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Sen. Sunday Karimi, has decried the daily reports of kidnap in Kogi West describing the recent death of 76 years old retired Major, Pastor Joe Ajayi in the hands of his abductors as one too many.
Sen. Karimi in a statement made available to Newsmen on Monday in Lokoja, reacted to the gruesome death of Major Pastor Joe Ajayi (rtd) who died in the hands of Abductors, with utter dismay.
He lamented that the entire Kogi West is now under siege, adding that even as people now remain in their houses and hardly go out for fear of the hoodlums, they are still being kidnapped from their homes.
He said that the spate of kidnapping in the Senatorial district – from Lokoja to Kakanda, Bunu axis in Kiri area of Kabba Bunu LGA was worrisome, adding that till date, the 92-year-old traditional Ruler of Okoloke, is still in the hands of his abductors.
The Senator regretted that across Kogi West, his people now live in fear as Kidnapping has now become a daily occurrence, adding that there is need for synergy among security agencies for composite actions against the hoodlums to free his people from fear and to live their lives normally.
Sen. Karimi disclosed his plans to go spiritual on the matter as he revealed that plans are underway to organize inter-faith three-day fasting and prayer programme involving clerics from the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Council of Ulaamau.
The three day fasting and prayer session, he said, it help seek divine intervention to free the people of Kogi West Senatorial District from the activities of hoodlums, miscreants and other criminals terrorizing the area.
“The time for us to go spiritual in fighting this miscreants and kidnappers who have refused our people to breath and live freely from the hands of the people is now.
“I’m putting machinery in motion to help organize and hold this spiritual intervention, because we are no longer safe to live our lives”, Sen. Karimi cried out.
He expressed sadness over the death of Major Pastor Joe Ajayi, who he described as a perfect gentleman, with concern for the growth of Kogi West and lamented his gruesome murder in the hands of the kidnappers.
The Senator prayed for others who are still in captivity to regain their freedom and condoled with the family of the deceased Major Ajayi (rtd), as he prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear his loss. (Ends)
