Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on Muslims to draw inspiration from the enduring lessons of Eid-El-Kabir by embracing sacrifice, unity, compassion, and steadfast faith in nation-building.
Addressing worshippers at the Okene Central Eid Ground, Governor Ododo said the life and trials of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) offer profound guidance in these trying times—reminding all Nigerians of the power of obedience, selflessness, and devotion to collective good.
“As we celebrate this holy festival, let us renew our commitment to the values that bind us together—faith, peace, love for one another, and the spirit of sacrifice,” the Governor said.
“These values are not just religious teachings; they are pillars upon which great nations are built.”

Governor Ododo emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence among Nigeria’s diverse ethnic and religious communities, noting that national progress can only be achieved through mutual respect and unity.
He urged Muslims to use the festive period to model integrity, generosity, and service to humanity, while also supporting efforts to foster inclusive growth across the state.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to good governance, Ododo assured that no group or community in Kogi State would be left behind, regardless of religious or political affiliation.
“Our development agenda is people-centered. We are investing in security, expanding infrastructure, supporting agriculture and trade, and strengthening our healthcare and education systems. Every Kogite matters,” he declared.
The Governor also called on citizens to continue offering prayers and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, describing the Renewed Hope Agenda as a crucial step toward building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
According to him, the state government is also pursuing job creation, rural development, and industrialization as part of its commitment to inclusive economic transformation.
Governor Ododo was accompanied at the Eid celebration by former Governor Yahaya Bello, Chief of Staff Alhaji Ali Bello, APC State Chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, and other top government officials.
He concluded by extending warm Sallah greetings to all Muslims and residents of Kogi State, urging them to embody the values of Eid-El-Kabir in their daily lives and remain active contributors to peace, progress, and unity.
