The Federal Government has issued an official warning to the public about a fake website, lankantamil.com, which is fraudulently using the name and image of the Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, in what authorities describe as a case of digital impersonation and cyber fraud.
In a press statement released by the Federal Ministry of Finance on Wednesday, the government clarified that Dr. Uzoka-Anite has no affiliation whatsoever with the website or any of its content, describing the materials as “unauthorised, misleading, and intended to deceive the public.”
The Ministry said the incident has been reported to law enforcement and cybersecurity agencies for investigation and takedown, warning that the matter is being treated with urgency.

“This is a clear case of digital impersonation and fraud. The Honourable Minister remains committed to transparent public service and communicates only through verified official channels,” said Mohammed Manga, FCAI, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry.
Citizens have been urged to disregard any content or links associated with the fake website, refrain from sharing such materials and report the activity to digital platforms or relevant cybersecurity authorities.
The Ministry reiterated its stance on zero tolerance for misinformation and online scams, especially those targeting public officials or institutions.
The warning comes amid a global rise in phishing websites and digital impersonation of public figures — a threat cybersecurity experts say requires both public awareness and swift institutional response.
