In a gesture that has left a lasting impression on delegates and observers alike, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, extended a warm and generous welcome to NIPR delegates from six northern states attending the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Annual General Meeting and Council elections in Uyo.
The CP hosted a special dinner in honour of delegates from Kano, Bauchi, Jigawa, Gombe, Adamawa, and Yobe States — a gathering that brought together top public communication figures and state officials. 
Among the dignitaries were the Bauchi State Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Usman Shehu Usman; his Jigawa counterpart, Alhaji Sagir Musa; SA Media to the Bauchi Governor, Mukhtar Gidado; Dr. Sule Ya’u Sule; former Bauchi Education Commissioner, Dr. Jamila Dahiru Mohammed; Registrar of ATBU, Alhaji Kabiru; and Director of Public Affairs at Bayero University Kano, Lamara Garba.
Addressing his guests, CP Azare, a proud member of the NIPR Kano Chapter, shared emotional reflections about his deep ties to Kano, where he began his professional journey.
“Kano is more than home to me. I studied at BUK, trained at the Police Academy in Wudil, and started my career in Kano. The city and its people embraced me, and that love has never left my heart,” he said.
He also spoke fondly of his roots in Bauchi and Gombe, affirming his unwavering commitment to honouring his heritage and supporting fellow professionals from the region.
In response, Dr. Sule Ya’u Sule and Alhaji Usman Shehu Usman expressed profound gratitude for the CP’s generosity, citing the comfortable accommodation, feeding, and logistical support provided to the entire Kano delegation, numbering eleven.
“This reception reflects your leadership, humility, and commitment to unity,” Dr. Sule noted.
The dinner served not only as a social highlight of the NIPR AGM but also as a testament to CP Azare’s dedication to building bridges across Nigeria’s diverse regions — through mutual respect, shared heritage, and genuine hospitality.
