As Easter celebrations draw near, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command has rolled out a robust security strategy to protect lives and property across the state. In a bold show of readiness, Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, has mobilized personnel and resources to all 31 Local Government Areas, assuring residents of uninterrupted peace throughout the holiday period.
Speaking through a press release signed by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Timfon John, the CP reiterated the Command’s commitment to visible, intelligence-led policing. From churches to highways, recreational centres to event grounds, officers will be on high alert—patrolling on foot and in vehicles—to deter crime and respond swiftly to any threats.
“The safety of our people is non-negotiable,” CP Azare said, urging citizens to celebrate responsibly, stay security conscious, and remain law-abiding. He also extended Easter greetings to Christians, describing the season as a powerful reminder of sacrifice, redemption, and renewed hope.
In a state long regarded for its calm and hospitality, the Command’s proactive measures serve as a rallying call for residents and stakeholders to jointly safeguard the peace that defines Akwa Ibom.
