The convocation will celebrate the Founder’s Day, which honors His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria and founder of AUN, for his remarkable contributions to education and human development.

In 20 years, AUN has grown significantly, earning recognition among the top three Nigerian universities in Times Higher Education (THE) 2024 Global Impact Rankings. The university’s emphasis on community service and its focus on addressing Africa’s socioeconomic challenges have been key factors in its success.

“We are proud to welcome Mr. Peter Obi, a respected leader who has consistently championed quality education and governance. He is an ideal speaker to help us mark our 20th anniversary,” said Dr. Frazier.

Obi joins an esteemed list of past speakers at the university, including Dr. Paul Vita, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah, and Professor Charles Soludo.

This event marks another significant milestone in Obi’s ongoing advocacy for education and leadership development in Nigeria and beyond.
