The Ohinoyi of Ebira Land, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Dr. Ahmed Muhammed Tijani Anaje has lauded the all-inclusive, innovative transformative approach to leadership being exhibited by Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman.
Alhaji Tijani Anaje gave the commendation while receiving the Rector and other Principal Officers of the Polytechnic who were on a courtesy visit to his palace at the weekend in Okene.
According to a statement signed by Uredo Omale, Director, Public Relations and Protocol, the revered monarch said the all-inclusive and innovative approach leadership brought to bear by the Rector had led to unprecedented transformation of the institution.
He congratulated the Professor Ogbo Usman on his well-deserved re-appointment as Rector, describing it as a reward for his exceptional leadership, innovative approach and commitment to academic excellence in the Polytechnic.
The Ohinoyi stressed that the Rector’s re-appointment was well deserved, considering his outstanding achievements and distinguished track records over the past four years.
The Paramount ruler assured the Polytechnic Management of his continued support, particularly in addressing land encroachment and security issues at the Itakpe Campus.
He emphasised his commitment to fairness, justice and equal treatment for all, regardless of tribal or religious affiliations.
Alhaji Anaje also applauded the Rector for his trailblazing initiative in establishing the School of Agricultural Technology, a pioneering move that holds immense promise in addressing the perennial issue of food insecurity in Nigeria.
He expressed optimism that establishment of the school would enhance food production and also create a plethora of employment opportunities, thereby contributing significantly to the nation’s socio-economic development.
The Royal Father commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the achievements recorded within this short period of his administration.
He said that the governor had surpassed citizens expectations, particularly in the areas of peace and tranquility as evident in the last nationwide protest that was not experienced in Kogi State.
Earlier, the Rector, Prof. Usman appreciated the royal father for his warm reception and congratulated him profoundly on his ascension to the throne of his forebears.
Prof. Usman took a moment to reel out his numerous and unprecedented achievements including the 100 per cent accreditation for over 30 programmes previously unaccredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) among many others.
The Rector appealed to the Royal father to help express his profound gratitude and appreciation to Governor Ododo, for his continuous supports to the Polytechnic, particularly, his kind approval of the on-going fencing project at the Itakpe Campus.
He added that the fencing project would enhance the campus security, prevent encroachment and provide a safer learning environment for students.
Prof. Ogbo Usman assured the royal father that the management team was poised to strive for greatness, fueled by their relentless passion for excellence and dedication to making the people of Kogi State proud. (Ends)
