Reps member, trains, empowers 220 women, youths in Kogi

The member representing, Idah, Federal Constituency, Kogi State Hon David Zacharias on Saturday, August 10, empowered 220 women and youth of his constituency

The empowerment which took place at Idah local government area of the state, had 220 beneficiaries, made up of 50 beneficiaries drawn from Idah, Ibaji, Igalamela respectively and 70 from Ofu local government area.

The event which was conducted by the Federal College of Veterinary and Medical Laboratory Technology, Vom in partnership with Gold -Ligne Synergy Limited had each participant leaving with cash support.

Representing on behalf of the honourable member, Comrade Momoh Rilwanu, the Senior Legislative Assistant (SLA), charged the beneficiaries to return to the farm, assuring them of his unflinching support
In his words “We are trying to encourage the beneficiaries to make use of what has been given to them and that is what the Hon. member is trying to encourage, that we all should return to the farms.
“This is not the first time, the hon member has supported his constituency multiple times, in-fact this is the 4th of such events this year and I can assure you; he will continue to support the people.
He urged the beneficiaries to return to the farm and make use of the knowledge they had acquired.
In his comments, a representative of the Federal College of Veterinary and Medical Laboratory Technology, Vom, Bala Katos, Vom, described the event as colourful “The event is colourful in that, the lectures and cash support were very objective. We hope to see more of this”
Also speaking, Newton Anderson representing Gold Ligne Synergy Limited encouraged the beneficiaries to make appropriate use of the cash empowerment to better their livelihoods in the constituency.
‘’This is one of its kind, especially at a season like this when we are currently in the rainy season, so its’ going to be highly beneficially to all the farmers.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the lawmaker urging for more from the Hon member and other good spirited individuals.
A beneficiary, Engineer Victor Ojata, coordinator to Hon. Zacharias programme for Ibaji constituency, said the event was remarkable for the community.
In his words “Today is a very remarkable day in the lives of our people, most especially, the farmers, because Ibaje community are predominantly farmers. Our people have a lot to take home, from this training, as well as the cash support to assist them in their farming” he said.
