Entrepreneurship/Empowerment: Foundation Organises Symposium for Kogi Youths

Local Organising Committee for Oladele John Nihi Annual Symposium has solicited partnership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kogi State Council, in Organising the 2024 edition of the symposium.
Mr Samuel Kadiri, Chairman of the LOC, made the call when members of the Committee paid a courtesy call on the NUJ Council Chairman, Alhaji Seidu Ademu Haruna and his executive members at the NUJ Secretariat in Lokoja.
Kadiri said that the symposium which is being planned under the auspices of Oladele John Nihi (OJN) Foundation, would dwell on matters relating to Governance, Youth Empowerment/Entrepreneurship and Nation Building.
Kadiri said the programme slated for 15th July would provide a platform for youths to discuss burning issues affecting them and proffer workable solutions for a greater Nigeria.
Host of the symposium, Oladele John Nihi, Immediate past Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and currently, Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth and Student Matters, said the event was apt in view of current challenges facing the youths.
He said that the annual programme came about on the need to reach out to the youth across Kogi State, Nigeria, Africa and the world to discuss on issues of common interests and proffer the way forward.
Hon. Nihi said the date coincided with his birthday and therefore, felt the need to make positive impact on the lives of the youth as potential leaders of nations through Empowerment and talks on Entrepreneurship.
He solicited the endorsement, cooperation and active participation of the NUJ in the symposium, towards achieving the desired objectives.
He said that the symposium which is the 5th edition in its series is themed: “Youth Entrepreneurship & Empowerment: Panacea To Foster Socioeconomic Development In A Society.”
The SA said he was inspired to embark on the programme by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s annual colloquium which has continued to make difference in the lives of the people of the Nation.
In his response, Alhaji Seidu Ademu Haruna, the State NUJ Council Chairman, assured the team of the Council’s partnership with the Committee to achieve success moreso that it is targeted at the youths.
He pointed out that the NUJ was a body of Media professionals working for promotion and attainment of good governance amongst other constitutional mandate entrusted to the Union. (Ends)
